Forma is a non-invasive sub-dermal treatment for collagen remodeling and tightening. The subdermal heating allows your skin’s collagen to be increased and remodeled into a more youthful functioning layer. As we age, collagen layers become smashed (think of an older mattress), thus creating wrinkles and lines. The RF energy in the Forma system allows the collagen strands to remold into tighter lines, thus improving lines, wrinkles, and texture. Forma stimulates the formation of new collagen and improves the skin’s elasticity for long-lasting and remarkable results.
The Forma treatment is a comfortable experience that leaves your skin plump and lifted and is actually often compared to a stone massage. The wand uses auto-adjusting technology to ensure that the heat does not reach too high of a temperature. Patients will feel a little bit of heat coming from the wand, but nothing hot enough to burn the skin or cause any pain. In fact, many patients consider Forma to be quite relaxing. The full treatment takes about 30 minutes.
Because the treatment is non-invasive, there is no recovery period. Many patients experience some sort of redness once the treatment is over, but that usually subsides within the hour.
Much like most skin treatments, the amount of sessions you get will depend on the type of results you want and how long you want them to last. If you’re considering to do it as a one-off as a treat for yourself or pre event prep, you can expect results from one treatment to last you a couple weeks. If you’re looking for results to last long term, we recommend patients purchase packages of 3 or 6. Treatments are followed up every couple weeks to a month, with results lasting up to 5 years (depending on your own aging process, daily skin care, sun exposure, etc..). A maintenance program is suggested after the initial treatments are completed to help maintain your long-term results.
