Prior to your appointment at Stiller Aesthetics, you will need labs to discover your baseline hormone levels. It's best to call our office so we can send a lab order in for you at LabCorp. Once received, a consultation can be scheduled. You will meet with one of our two Biote Certified Providers who have extensive training in hormone replacement therapy to review your labs, symptoms and create a hormone treatment plan to best support your goals. Most commonly, patients will receive pellets that day however, treatment can be scheduled at a later day. The treatment process for hormone pellets usually takes no more than 30 minutes. Once your desired dose is decided, the pellets will be inserted into the fatty portion of your buttock or flank. The area is prepped, numbed, and a small incision is made to insert the pellets. The actual process of pellet insertion takes no more than 5-10 minutes and is essentially painless.
After your hormone replacement therapy treatment, a small bandage will be applied to the area. The treatment area may feel sore and bruising and swelling may be present for about a week. However, there is no downtime and you may return to daily activities and work right away. You will receive more detailed instructions after your appointment.
You will begin to feel the benefits of your pellets within 7-10 days however, full results can take up to a month. For women, pellets generally last 3-4 months. For men, pellets generally last 4-6 months. The duration of your pellets depends on how active you are.
